Raine used both of her hands, running them down Dancer's neck affectionately. It had taken a few weeks to tame Dancer to this point to allow human touch and Raine had a good feeling that training her to the saddle would not be as difficult as she had originally projected. Raine was proud of her horse for the progress that she was making. Raine planted a kiss on the tip of her fingers then gently put them on Dancer's cheek.
You beautiful girl.
Raine praised her horse, and then her eyes drifted over Dancer's neck. Jacob had his fingers on the bridge of his nose and Raine recognised that pose from the countless times she had seen other people do it. Raine bit her lower lip, knowing that by now most of her lip gloss was gone with her nervous habit. The phone call had to do with his horse Deheya and Raine could only hope that this led somewhere good. Justin could have killed her at times for her optimism but Raine believed in the good of people and positivity. She didn't run around doing seminars and splashing rainbows in peoples faces but it brought her that glow when she smiled. It was for that attribute that people decided whether they liked her or not, but her pretty brown eyes tipped that scale somewhat.
Jacob had turned back to face Raine and she was taken aback by the look on his face. She hadn't been expecting the words that came from him next.
Excuse me?
Her arms had dropped to her sides and she was staring at him like he had just poured paint over himself. Like he was downright insane.
Tonight? And she's what?
Raine's voice had risen somewhat and for that she had to reassure Dancer, who nervously backed away a few steps. Raine soothed her by putting a gentle hand on the horse's muzzle but then she went around Dancer to face Jacob face to face, without the mustang being put inbetween.
Oh my god. Oh my god, pregnant? Jacob!
Raine put her hands over her mouth. Her thoughts had immediately jumbled up and shrunk into things that her brain couldn't process.
Where the hell are you going to find a ranch? Westin's a small town. Biggest place around is Silver Stag. There's hardly anything else except in surrounding towns?
Raine offered what little knowledge she had of the area. She still had her hands up, this time resting on the nape of her neck, looking up at him with an expression of surprise and sudden confusion.

Anger coursed through Jacob's veins as he shook his leg- his nervous habit. A frown was on his face, pulling down his features, and a look of fear filled his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes. I don't know. All I know is I have to get her somewhere safe. And I have to find somewhere to live anyway. I guess this is just as good a time as any. Darkness filled his features, and he buried his face in his hands, before allowing them to drop. He was on the verge of a complete freakout. I'm sorry to cut our training short, but this needs to be handled. Now. [/blockquote]

No, no, Jacob. You do what you need to do.
Her eyes roved over his face as his expression of fear and anger mixed up into one dangerous-looking mix. Raine herself was starting to feel some of that fear. Starved and pregnant? For any living being that was a combination made in hell and she couldn't imagine a worse thing to happen to his horse. Now he would have to witness it in order to save his horse and Raine could only hope that Deheya turned out alright and was well enough to return with Jacob to Westin.
Where is she?
First of all Raine actually had no idea where Deheya was. For all she knew his horse could be in Europe or some godforsaken place on the other side of the country.
I want to help. Whatever it is. I could look around for ranches or...
Well that was all Raine had. Her thoughts had been thrown up in the air and she was only just gathering them up then from the initial shock.

At Raine's generosity, Jake couldn't help but smile. He knew she didn't need to help, but here she was, actually offering. He took a deep breath, and nodded.
Any ranch. I don't care how much. You can bring my dog with you, if you'd like. She's up in Nevada. It'll take me about seven hours to make it to where she is, and another seven back.
He took a deep breath, sighing, and rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. His muscles bulged with each movement, and a frown picked at the corners of his mouth.
You don't have to do this. Not if you don't want to.
But hidden in his voice was a tone of urgency. Deheya was the sweetest, easiest horse he'd ever trained, and he wanted her home and safe before any more harm could come to her. For all he knew, she could be feral. Rebreaking her would take more time, and it would be even harder with a foal.. [/blockquote]

I want to.
Raine offered Jacob a reassuring smile. Her blonde hair was hanging over the front of her shoulder, just tickling her collar bone.
Keep me updated though. I'll give you my number and if you ever feel like you're falling asleep, give me a shout.
She teased, trying to lift his spirits. Yes, it would be rough bringing Deheya back to help but hell, he was getting his horse back. Raine's initial worry still showed but at the same time she was being supportive for him because goodness knows how he felt.
Let's get you on the road.
By then Desert Dancer had left them and returned to Cowboy's side. The dun was standing with his muzzle resting against the mustangs shoulder, both dozing and their tails lifting as a cold wind blew past. Raine took a few steps in the direction of the fence but put her hand on his arm.
Coming?
