Anthony pulled his hoodie sleeves up to his elbows and then returned his elbows to the counter, leaning forwards over the polished wood. He picked up the cold sweat bottle and tipped it up, feeling the cider pour down onto his tongue. It chilled him right through but at the same time it tasted so damn good. Anthony would admit that at times he liked his alcohol a bit too much but for the better part of it he was fairly responsible. He couldn't say that it had given him too much because for it, he'd blown a lot of his savings and was rebuilding all of that back here in Westin. He had started initially back in New York after his bounce back but the apartment had sold for next to nothing and Anthony was about back to square one. Yet there he was with a smile just tugging at the edge of his lips. Anthony couldn't help himself for watching the door. Bridgett had made him smile and although he hadn't forgotten things, he had certainly felt a little lighter in his chest without the burden of a heavy heart.
I'm frightened at night and the wind has a roar It seeps through the hall and from under the door Like the shit that was said I can't take it that well I give and I give and I give and I give and I'm still Lost and hurt and bone thin from the love that's been starved I know it got close but I'm sure it's too far From the point of suspense, we know it should be The end of that part of our favorite movie When the guy grabs the girl and gives her his hand Says take me away from this torturous land Cause the grave is set up, the hole that I dug I gave and I gave and I gave and I gave you my trust Like the time that we kissed and you gave me a lie To add to the scene you pretended to cry But I'm here and I'm cool, the way that it is Just give me a chance and I'll try to forgive
Anthony had put some effort into neatening his hair and he no longer had that rough stubble on his jaw. After inviting Bridgett out for drinks they had agreed to meet that evening at Hillbilly bar. Anthony had arrived early and ordered himself a drink in the meanwhile. He had struck up some conversation with the occasional person that came up to the bar to get their drinks but otherwise he was quiet, smiling on the inside whilst on the outside looking somewhat peaceful. The dark circles under his eyes were a bit deceiving but underneath all of that his excitement at suddenly having a reason to go out was bubbling beneath the surface.
Once again Anthony looked over his shoulder and the bar door opened. A crooked but handsome smile found its way onto his lips and there she was.

Butterflies flew in her stomach as she drove her truck to the bar. It had been a long time since she went on a date. Well she didn't know if she should call it a date since her and Anthony were not a couple.
Bee had changed into a clean pair of jeans and a nice pink button up shirt she usually wore on little outings like this. She had taken a shower and crunched her hair so it layed in defined waves. She looked clean and fresh. No make up was caked on to her face, simply some mascara and lip gloss was all she needed to turn heads, although she wasn't looking for attention to night.
Bee squeezed her dually into a parking space and killed the engine. Giving herself one more look in the rearveiw mirror before getting out and heading to the door. She hurried, glad to be finally in the warmth. She looked around for Anthony and finally saw him sitting on a bar stool smiling at her. She slightly waved, smiled back and headed his way.
She slid into the bar stool next to him, the smile still stuck on her lips.
Hey! Long time no see.
Bee was an easy person to get a long with. She was easy to love, but at times could be confusing, but what girl wasn't? Being out with Anthony, just the thought of it, made her smile all the way home, while she was getting ready and on the way here. It was amazing what one simple person could do.

He caught her wave and soon Bridgett was seating herself on the bar stool alongside him. Bridgett got in the first word and Anthony's smile broadened.
Tell me about it.
He said, faking an exasperated sigh and shaking his head. Anthony rested his elbow on the counter and automatically starting twisting the bottle around and around in his hand again. It wasn't that he was nervous, it was just habit. But then again...maybe nerves had a small part in it.
What'll ya have?
All the, small things True care, truth brings I'll take, one lift Your ride, best trip Always, I know You'll be at my show Watching, waiting, commiserating Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home Na, na... Late night, come home Work sucks, I know She left me roses by the stairs, surprises let me know she cares Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights off, carry me home
Anthony asked as a bartender came up the counter with Bridgett's arrival.
"Tomsett."
Anthony had to turn a bit in his seat to see the bar's owner walk up to them after handing a few men their beers. Mandy was a tall woman and as tough as nails, but she was one of the friendliest at the same time and knew just about everyone.
Mandy, how're you.
Anthony greeted her with a smile.
"Woah, hey there Bridgett."
Mandy leaned on the counter and ushered the bartender to take the order before she spoke again.
"You two? Good god, I woulda never guessed."
Anthony cast his mischevious eyes towards Bridgett then back to Mandy.
Well, I guess so.
Mandy looked at Bridgett specifically, giving her a wink and with a wide smile told them to enjoy then headed off to chat with her other customers. Anthony turned back at face Bridgett directly. He leaned on his hand for a moment then finally sat up straight.
I haven't done this in years. And you didn't make it any easier by turning up lookin' as good as you do.
Anthony admitted with a sheepish smile, his eyes cast down to his drink then back to Bridgett. He held his cider bottle up, casting some sort of mimic toast.
Here's to health class.
He joked, laughing as he looked upon a girl turned into a woman. Anthony had thought about the times he had seen Bridgett in class that afternoon whilst he got ready to meet her at the bar. Why had he never approached her in the first place? I guess Anthony had been pretty caught up in working, so focused on his goal to get into the army but her he was now, with the army behind him and trying to figure out what to do with himself for the rest of his life. Now there was Bridgett - someone Anthony had never expected but was grateful for.

She chuckled at his sigh. Anthony was getting more attractive every minute that Bee was with him. Bee tucked a strand of blonde hair behind a ear so it wouldnt hang in her eyes while she was talking to Anthony.
Mikes Hard Razzberry Lemonade please,
She said to the bartender with a sweet smile. She wasn't gonna lie, she hated the taste of beer and loved the fruity girly stuff.
She heard a familar voice and glanced back as Anthony turned. And looky there it was Mandy.
Hey!
It was crazy how you could run into people you havnt seen in ages. She kept her mouth shut when Mandy said she wouldn't guess that Bridgett and Anthony would be together. But smiled back. The smile grew a bit bigger when Anthony slightly agreed. Small steps Bee, small steps.
I really hate to let this moment go Touching your skin, and your hair falling slow When a goodbye kiss, feels like this
Why thanks. You're looking pretty good yourself.
Her voice was sweet and caring.
To health class.
She said sipping her fresh Mikes, the liqour slidding through her lush lips. So far Anthony was great. He seemed caring and sweet, but Bee reminded herself that she really didn't know Anthony that well and was determined to change that.
So Anthony, tell me something I've missed.
A smile perked on her lips. She left the option of what he would tell her up to him.
Notes;; Hey could I maybe bring her ex in just for some dramaish stuff later on? If not thats alright just an idea. Lyrics;; Don't you wanna stay ~ Jason Aldean

Anthony took a swig of his cider and it left an icy trail right down his throat. He could still taste it on his lips and with Bridgett's question, he forced himself to take another swig from the bottle before setting it down on the counter.
Something you've missed?
He repeated, leaving his hand resting on his knee as he avoided eye contact for a moment. It was a sensitive topic but at the same time Anthony was getting over all of it. He supposed that the more he said it out loud, the more he'd get used to it and then it would be in the past.
I guess everybody knew me as the army buff. Always getting ready for that day I'd finally get in.
He exhaled, rubbing his lips and then his jaw as he thought carefully of what he was going to reveal to her.
I was prepared. I knew the army was an ugly place but god, once you're in it you realise there's hardly any way to prepare yourself for those kind of images.
He had somehow managed to keep some eye contact with her whilst talking, not necessarily using his hands but it was a big enough step just keeping his eyes up.
You know, I actually did come back after I was released. I was here for what, two weeks? Couldn't take it so I moved up to New York. But I'm back now and I gotta tell ya, I have no damn clue what I'm going to do next.
Anthony offered her a smile with his last sentence, a little laugh racking his ribcage but it was nothing much.
Like I said, I don't know why I left Westin.
He had experienced a part of the world that he didn't want to ever know again. Now that Anthony had all that out of his system he was ready to find what was right for him and where he wanted to be in life.

She remembered Anthony always wearing the army strong tshirts, him talking about the army, she remembered it very well. She remember being kindof uneasy, knowing that one of her classmates might not make it back home. But that was so long ago, atleast he was here now.
I love Westin, I couldn't leave it.
She said with a half smile, and took another sip. She almost left after a very bad break up. But she was determined not to let Sam push her away from her life and everything she knew.
Yup, I've just stayed right here. Rodeo'd on the circut while going to vet school
She was goin to be a mixed animal vet, there was a high demand for them. She hoped to open up her own aquatic center for injured horses. Dreams.
She turned her head as I Cross My Heart by George Strait came on.
You dance?
She said with a flirt smile, standing up from her stool and holding out a hand.

Rodeo?
So she wasn't just a pretty face. Having said that Anthony had been unable to make any real asumptions of Bridgett up until now - number one asumption: she was pretty damn tough. Rodeo was a tough world to get into and once you were in, you had to be damn brave to take your horse out there into the ring or take your seat on an angry bull. And it wasn't just that - Bridgett seemed to have also survived a very hard break up, or in her case as she said before, quite a few. Although really all she had said was that there had been "guys".
Our love is unconditional, we knew it from the start. I see it in your eyes, you can feel it from my heart. From here on after let's stay the way we are right now, And share all the love and laughter That a lifetime will allow.
I cross my heart and promise to Give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true. In all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine.
You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete, And as long as there's a breath in me, I'll make yours just as sweet. As we look into the future, it's as far as we can see, So let's make each tomorrow be the best that it can be
Bridgett seemed to perk up as the song over the speakers changed, staying with the country theme but at the same time toning down to something a little softer. Anthony didn't seem to hesitate at the thought of dancing. He had been in the New York clubscene when he had been a heavy drinker and had picked up a few moves he hadn't seen in this small town.
That I do.
He replied, his smile revealing the handsome dimples in his cheeks as he raised himself from the bar stool and took her hand in his. He let her lead them onto the dance floor, scattered with a few couples and otherwise friendly partners. They found their spot amongst the group and when they finally faced each other again, Anthony was hardly shy about putting his hand on the small of her back and standing closer to dance with her to the song. He still had her hand in his other hand, holding it politely and not being too bold on their first dance.
He a favourite of yours?
Anthony asked, referring to the song that was playing in the bar. On his own he listened to very little music but from his experience about town he knew the country songs that came in and out of that bar.

A smile graced her face as he said he did dance. It was hard to find a boy that actually seemed to enjoy dancing, other than grinding when they were drunk.
She felt the warm palm of his hand place its self on her back, and for some reason it felt oddly good. It wasn't an intmate touched but it had been so long since she felt other than a muzzle of her horses nudging her or a buisness handshake.
He is a favorite.
Her smile sweet and simple, her dimples curving into her cheek.
Do you like him?
she said turing the question back to him. She listened to the song, and danced a long, wishing the song wouldn't end.
