Finn Keagan
Full name: Finnegan Eli Keagan
Nicknames: Finn
Gender: Male
Age: Seventeen
Nationality: American Irish
Hair: Finn's hair is a dirty blonde color, and he keeps it longer, even though at most times it annoys him. He's cut it short before, but doesn't really like the way it looks, so he keeps it just at his eyes really. It's naturally straight, and he doesn't do much to take care of it other than run his fingers through it.
Eyes: His eyes are a bright green color with flecks of sky blue mixed within. They don't show much emotion, so it's usually very difficult to know what the young man is thinking.
Height: Finn stands at an easy five foot ten, which is neither too tall nor too short. It's a good height for him because he doesn't need anyone to help him reach things that are too high up basically.
Weight: He's not too scrawny, but he does weigh a meer one hundred and forty pounds. It's because he's malnourished right now, which is understandable. He should weigh in the one fifties or sixties, but he still needs to gain it all back.
Build: He used to be muscular when he was well taken care of, but now he's thin and a bit scrawny, as mentioned before. He has the potential to have muscle, but at the moment he doesn't. He's taller, and appears to be a bit lanky. He does have an athletic form however, for he does do a lot of sports, especially soccer.
General likes:
- girls
- going against the grain
- causing trouble
- horses (secretly)
- reading (again...secretly)
- blaring his music
- playing his guitar
- singing..he actually has a decent voice
- sketching
- being on his own
- running
General dislikes:
- being told what to do
- the feeling of abandonment
- people who think they're better than everyone else
- people who don't take chances or risks
- being forced inside
- when people are disappointed in him
- the fact that his parents didn't love him
- being alone
- being underestimated
- not being the best he can be
- failing
Personality: Finn can be a lot to handle when you first meet the young man. He's trouble to put it mildly, but that doesn't even begin to describe it. The young man is sarcastic and strong willed, and seems to have no concern for authority in the least. That is obvious because of the amount of times he's been under the custody of the law officials. He just doesn't care, and he doesn't do what he's supposed to do. He hates being told what to do, and he'll rebel as much as possible. The fact is, he has the no care no worries attitude, which is harmful to himself and those around him. Unfortunately, he was never taught to care about anyone else or even himself, so he can be a bit wild. He doesn't have respect for anyone because he doesn't believe they deserve it, and he doesn't expect anyone to respect him. He doesn't fall in with the norm, and he can be defiant and stubborn. Because of that, he is very difficult to control because he has no concern for what kind of trouble he gets into. He doesn't listen to anyone, and that is why he's in the program that he's in. Not a lot can get through his thick skull, but when it does it leaves a lasting impression. He's just very hard to handle, and it's very hard to keep him under control. He does what he wants when he wants to do it, and it's as simple as that. He's a bit of a pain in the butt in all honesty, but everyone is hoping the program will change that. He's got a mouth on him, and he's a bit too smart for his own good.
The thing about Finn is that he does have a heart somewhere deep inside of him. He does care about his life, and what happened to him does effect him. He's just horrible at showing his emotions, and he reacts by being the rebel that he is. He doesn't talk about what happened, but most of it is because he can't remember. It frustrates him, and it's largely the reason as to why he acts out. He doesn't do it for attention as many believe, but just because he wants people to hate him. He doesn't want anyone to get close to him, and he doesn't want anyone to ask him questions. Because of that, he's a bit of a loner. He prefers to be by himself even if that solitude scares him. He is a hard worker though, even if he doesn't let anyone see it. He tries his best and he hates to fail, and even though he puts on the act of wanting to sit around and do nothing, that couldn't be further from the truth. He needs to be doing something constantly, and because of that, he doesn't really sleep at night. He's a sleep insomniac, and will spend nights doing something to keep himself occupied, whether it's sketching or working on a song. But he's got a good heart...it's just hidden by his dark exterior. Finn is very athletic too, even though he's scrawny at this point in time. He's very much into soccer, and his battered and beat up soccer ball is one of his most prized possessions. If you can't find him around, he's probably out for a run and getting himself back into a healthy state. He is a health freak actually, and does whatever he can to keep himself in good shape. Finn has a good heart, but it's hidden under years of sadness and hopelessness..and most of all, anger. It will come out eventually, but it's going to take a very long time and a lot of patience.
History: Finnegan Eli Keagan was born to Sarah Marie Faren and Daniel John Keagan on August 8, 1991. He was a loud, bouncing baby boy from the time of his birth, and he only got more energetic as the time went by. He never stopped, but his parents couldn't be happier with their son. Finn was a happy young man, and his family was always there for him. His parents didn't have any living relatives, but that was alright in their eyes. They were happy with their son, and that was all that they needed in their lives. Dan was a contractor, and he did well for his family. Sarah was a interior designer, and she was doing well for her own personal business. They brought in good money to provide for their son, and that was the most important thing in their eyes. As Finn grew, he got involved in sports and school, and was doing his best. Their happy lives took a turn for the worst however, for something that none of them expected suddenly came around. When Finn was fifteen and doing well in high school and his sports, everything seemed to be turned around. His mother hadn't been feeling very well as of late, but the family members contributed it to the flu that was going around. Finn had just been seriously sick the week before, and had finally recovered from it. They figured she was suffering from the same thing. Until she collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital because she had passed out.
She made it to the hospital and was revived, but the root of her problems had finally been discovered through the number of tests that they put her through. Sarah had a tumor in her brain that had turned malignant. The young woman was diagnozed with brain cancer, and the chemotherapy would start soon enough. The fifteen year old Finn was dazed and confused, and the pain that he felt because of his mom's sickness was almost too much for him to handle. But he was strong for her sake, and for his father's as well. His dad fell into a depression because of her sickness, and because the doctor's couldn't do much to help her survive. The cancer had spread quickly and dangerously, and the woman only had months to live. She was as strong as she could be through the entire situation however, and that gave her son strength. He started bringing her to her chemo sessions even though he didn't have his license, and he would run out for whatever she needed. He didn't talk to his father much anymore, and the man was sinking further into his depression, turning to alcohol for comfort. Finn wouldn't give up on his mother though, and the woman appreciated that the most. Finn and Sarah grew extremely close, and their mother and son bond was stronger than any other. So when she finally died three months later, Finn was devestated. And he still is today. She died the day after his sixteenth birthday, and Finn is still suffering from that loss.
After her passing, Finn had a lot to do with the funeral and everything they needed to plan. His father provided the funds, but the sixteen year old grew up a lost faster than he should have to. His father did nothing, and when Finn approached him about something, Daniel usually yelled and carried on about it. So the young man started avoiding his father. He was providing for himself, for he had gotten a job at the local grocery store, bagging food and gathering shopping carts. He would stock shelves and clean the floor, and organize whatever else he needed to do to stay there longer so he could get a good paycheck. Finn knew he wasn't going to college, so he started slacking in his school work as well. He would start skipping and missing days so that he could work instead, and whenever he did go, he was so exhausted that he would fall asleep in class. Whenever teachers and principals would call home, his father was too drunk to comprehend what was being said to him, but he figured his son was in trouble. So he said he'd take care of it and thank whoever was on the line. The first phone call that had come home was the first day that Finn's father ever laid a hand on his son, but it would not be the last. The man started taking his pain and his sorrow, as well as his anger out on his son through physical harm. And because he was a contractor, he had a lot of strength behind his hits.
One day, Finn came home really late from work because he offered to stay after and take care of the new shipment for the old shop owner. The man had given him the keys to close up and thanked Finn whole heartedly. The man knew of the boy's money situation, and had slipped two hundred dollars into his locker where Finn couldn't see. He'd find it only after he went home, and then he wouldn't know who had given it to him. So Finn was working late, and didn't know that his father was calling the cell phone he had been given to find out where he was. Finn had finally finished and grabbed all of his things, locking up the store and making sure the alarm system was on. As he got on his bike to ride home, he became aware of the things in his pockets. There was his cellphone, but there was something that felt extremely similar to money. When he saw how much it was he almost fell off of his bike, but he didn't respond. He just put it back in his pocket and let the idea form in his mind. As he reached home finally, he put his bike away and soon entered the clean house. It was only clean because Finn kept it that way. When he entered, he dropped his black backpack, and went to the phone. He played the messages from his teachers, and wrote down the notes. Not that he'd show his father anyway. He had turned to go to his bedroom, but that was when he saw his father's form in the doorway, shadowed by the dim lighting in the house. And that was when all hell broke loose. Finn had always been afraid of the man ever since the beatings had started, but seeing the baseball bat in his father's hand sent him over the edge.
He had made a dash for the garage door, but his father had tackled him instantly, yelling about how there was no phone call, and no consideration. He would teach him not to leave and not tell anyone about it. Finn was yelling back, that he had told him he'd be working late, but his father didn't care. He just got even more angry that the boy was yelling back at him. And that was the last thing that Finn remembered. His father had pummeled him with the bat and his fists until Finn was unconcious. The man finally came to his senses after a while and called the police and the ambulance, and knew he was goingt to jail. Once everything was done, Finn was in the hospital and his father was in jail, and that was how it is today. Finn is coming to Silver Stag Ranch with a black and blue eye, and his swollen face. The bruises and the cuts are still healing over his arms and his body, but he hates when people stare at them for too long. His lower lip is fat from a good hit with a bat, and his nose will always be crooked from the break it sustained. His wrist is wrapped in a plaster cast as well, but that's the extent of his injuries. He's far worse mentally than physically right now, but he won't let that show. He's back to his old rebellious ways, because he thinks it's the only way he can protect himself. Poor Wyatt.
