Wyatt Parker
Full name: Wyatt Sean Parker
Nicknames: None.
Gender: Male
Age: 27 years old
Nationality: Born and bred in Arizona
Hair: Dirty blonde. Its fairly long in the front with a short cut around the back.
Eyes: Hazel is the dominating colour with green flecks around the pupils.
Height: 6"1
Weight: 96kg
Build: Fair amount of muscle, well-toned and has a high level of fitness (he has to if he's going to run the ranch)
General likes: Spending time on the ranch, cattle drives, tending to his horses, spending time with his daughter, eagles, playing his guitar, going out on the trails alone.
General dislikes: Branding livestock, mountain lions, losing one of his animals, snakes, photos, rich southerns, uncooperative people, bad business, bright colours, large crowds.
Personality: Wyatt won't often talk much unless spoken to, and that doesn't include when he's running his ranch. He'll be bossy as hell and work your fingers to the bone to keep his men/women busy. He figures if you take on responsibility then you have to be ready for it. He generally dislikes strangers although he'll be as polite as he can be. Show him any disrespect and he has a certain tolerance for it but he won't last long if you show him any kind of attitude. That goes especially for people who swear in front of his daughter or show bad manners - he won't stand for it.
Its rare that he'll lose his temper. If he does, its only because you've got him worried and he gets all that pent up anxiousness off of his chest. He doesn't mean to but he could say hurtful things when it happens. When he's upset or anxious he takes to the trails on horseback, often refusing to talk no matter how much you talk to him, and keeping to himself. Wyatt is a typical ranch man, taking after his father. He won't stand for anyone else's crap and he'll do his best to show respect and use the manners he was taught.
When he's pensive its often because he's figuring out something that proved quite challenging to him. Like a difficult horse he's got to train or money troubles. He won't talk much and gives short responses, not often giving anything but getting plenty talk in return. He won't necessarily listen so if you've got a secret you just need to get off your chest, then Wyatt's your man because he won't remember a damn thing you said to him.
Despite wanting other people to show their best behaviour around his daughter or women, when Wyatt's with the guys then he's just any regular Joe. He can swear like a blue arse fly but that's only if you've got him all riled up (it doesn't happen often). He enjoys his beers when he does have them but he drinks them to settle his thirst and to cool him down, its never just for the buzz. Sure, he's gotten drunk before but he didn't enjoy it the next morning. Plus it takes a hell of a lot of alcohol to get him boozed up because he can handle whatever you shove his way.
Wyatt is an all round nice guy. He puts up with the rantings of all the old senile people in the town, just cause they remember his pa. He'll also come over any time you need help. That doesn't mean he wears his heart on his sleeve but he does give out his attention when its needed. He doesn't expect people to show him the same respect or behaviour he gives out but he does expect it around his daughter or ladies.
History: Wyatt was raised by Allen Parker and his wife Martha Parker. Together they had carried on the legacy that Allen's father had brought to Westin. Silver Stag Ranch was all they had and all they ever wanted. His grandfather, having founded the ranch, gave it its name because of his encounter with a stag. First time he ever came to Westin he took a ride out in the mountains at night. He was warned against it but he did it anyway. Out there on the cliffs, where it was said you could not tred, a stag stood tall and proud against silver moonlight. It looked old but proud, still strong and extremely handsome. It stared his grandfather straight in the eyes and ever since then Westin has been the Parker's home.
Wyatt was brought up with horses and the line from his grandfather's horses still runs through 'em. They are some of the finest ranch horses he's ever known and will be damned if they ever leave the ranch. He was taught everything he knew from his father and the other ranchers, who eventually moved out of town and sold their land. Nothing ever became of them and whatever buildings were standing were demolished by their owners. All Westin had left was Silver Stag Ranch. It had been breeding Hereford cattle for decades and has annual cattle drives, bringing in the new calves born from a well-bred line of bulls.
Out on the natural plains of the Nevada countryside, Wyatt has found his home. He even made it his home with someone else. Lily, whom he called "Lil", was his high school sweet heart and they went on to marry after college. They had a daughter and called her Katy after Lily's mom. This only lasted for two years before Lily up and left. He never got an answer as to why she left, not even the last time he saw her standing opposite him in the kitchen, suitcase in hand. It hurt him before and it hurt him after. Before because she fell depressed after having Katy. That lasted a few years until she left Westin. Wyatt never got an answer out of Billy, her cousin, as to where she went. He never told anyone but all those drives out of town went into neighbouring cities, looking for Lily where he could. Nothing ever came of those searches and it near damn broke his heart. But he had enough love in him for Katy to keep himself under control. For months after Lily's departure he was a semi-broken man. He wasn't as sociable as he had been and his hostility was strange. When his father died from a severe heart attack it looked as if Wyatt would be pushed over the edge but that didn't happen. He'd been given the ranch in his fathers will and was busier than ever. He buried himself into whatever work he could find on the ranch, fixing fences and even going as far as arranging all the things in the barn. It was his way of dealing with his problems and the town people let him do it his way. Wyatt has finally picked up the pieces and is as happy as could be with his daughter Katy, who could talk herself into a frenzy any old time. It helps because Wyatt doesn't say too much around guests and Katy fills in the pieces - she's a good reflection of her mother who talked up a storm if ever you gave her enough beers. Now that would have been enough to make him laugh but thinking about Lily isn't anything to laugh about.
Wyatt was involved in the rodeo at one stage. His father had been a bull rider back when he was in his twenties and trained Wyatt in the business. The old mechanic bull is still in the barn collecting dust although its cover is all ripped up. Wyatt wasn't anything special on the bulls and his times came up 5th or 4th but he was good enough to stay in it for a few years. Then he went to college and afterwards returning to the rodeo, coming up first the one time but if you ask him it was pure luck. When Lily fell pregnant he gave it up. He'd been concussed, had a broken arm and damaged his back at one point. It was time to give it up.
The rodeo wasn't the only thing he ever did. He'd been interested in becoming deputy, a fireman, veterinarian, blacksmith as well as many other things. As a kid he'd been rather ambitious but eventually gave it all up. He wasn't keen on going out of Westin and since his father had no other heir to the ranch, Wyatt was stuck. Its a choice he's never looked back on.
That's his story. He's had an average life as far as he's concerned, with a typical marriage ending in a typical way. He's just a rancher in Westin but he's damn proud about it.
Roleplay sample: Alicia Rose from "From a Distance":Alicia brushed her hair back, fluffing it up a bit before it fell down either sides of her scalp, falling in a plump line on either sides of her face. In the brilliant golden afternoon light her hair was highlighted with auburn shades, whilst it was raven in other places. Worn loose and without any clips of any sort, her hair fell right down to the middle of her back. It was obviously straightened but with her looks, Licia could wear it almost any way. One thing about this girl was her looks. If you didn't get deep enough to her personality, her looks would certainly have you looking over your shoulder. Licia took care of herself, making damned sure that she looked good enough to taste. It wasn't just her face. Adorning a pair of tight, skinny jeans, she knew it was pinching all the right places. And her plain, hot pink tank top made her stand out. It was also form fitting, hugging her cleavage and stomach, leaving just a small gap between the hem of her jeans and the shirt hem. Revealed was a little jewel, giving away her belly button piercing.
Pushing the oversized sunglasses up onto her scalp, scooping up a bit of her hair in the process, Alicia looked around. Obviously it wasn't quite so dark and she was able to appreciate the way the light touched the buildings around her. Illuminated, it was like Sunset Boulevard. Hugging every corner, the gold hues brigthened up the already glamorous area. Sure, it wasn't as brilliant as the richer areas of town, but its intimate details made it feel just that much more welcoming. Nothing about this place was intimidating. Around the many shops dotting the area, children played in the streets. It was a saturday afternoon and there was no school or school play. The children enjoyed their freedom, running around with buckets and spades, puppies in harnesses with wagging tails, and proud moms looking on with their oh so natural beauty. Alicia was not quite so envious of their life, but she did envy their peace. She had her freedom, of course, but when your dreams go on unnoticed and unfulfilled, it gets a little old. Cramped, even. Heaving an exasperated sigh she moved on, walking down the street in her black jelly stilettos. They clicked on the concrete sidewalk and the cool of her necklace pendant on her breastbone apparently had a calming effect. She held the delicate silver with her index finger and thumb, fingering the pendant before laying it back against her skin. She dropped her hand, continueing towards her destination.
This wasn't quite a night out but the heat of the afternoon called for a little drink. Alicia could have gone anywhere else but the calm waters of the pier beckoned to her and she had conceded. She had already begun to anticipate the feel of a nice, cool cider trickling down her throat and to the pits of her belly. She needed to relax before Licia had to go back to reality - her job. Pulling off her clothes (what there was of them) and wrapping a tie around a guys neck, pulling him intimately close, just to get a few dollar bills was what she could look forward to. If it helped pay the rent then it was well worth doing, and especially if it contributed towards her savings for a lifetime dream. When you held a dream in one of the few chambers in your heart, stripping was well worth it. Plus, it was the one thing she knew best how to do.
Finally.
Alicia breathed out the words, reaching out her hand to open the door to the restaurant. Instead someone else had opened it. A young man in his twenties, dressed in a dark suit with a pressed purple shirt and darker purple tie. His eyes caught hers but she only bothered to look for a moment. He was holding the door open for herself, smiling a charming smile. It didn't leave her knock-kneed like it would for some romancers but since she’d never known romance it didn't affect her. Alicia thanked him, stepping into the restaurant and not looking back. Fluffing up her hair around the back, lifting it off of her neck slightly, Alicia eyed the podium behind which a woman would usually take your reservation number. However, during the day the podium was not occupied. So, Licia headed straight for the bar. It was decorated in dark oak wood with gold and green lamps just above the counter where customers would receive and enjoy their drinks. There weren't many people at the bar but there were plenty of couples seated at the tables. Ronny's Restaurant was a romantic place to be, especially since it was on the pier, but Alicia had never come here for that reason. She knew one of the barman and often came to visit, socializing a bit with the nightlife and enjoying a good drink before heading over to the stripping club.
Standing in front of one of the barman, Alicia leaned against the counter with her elbows resting on the polished oak wood, holding her hands together. One leg lifted up as she leaned in, with her shoulders casually rising up a bit. Her body language was suggestive but her smile was almost playful in a way.
Hello.
She greeted him and he looked up. This didn't look like one of the barman she knew but Alicia went on anyway.
Cider, please.
He nodded and went to work on retrieving her drink. In the meanwhile, Licia looked over her shoulder. There was an empty table alongside the railing separating you from the pier. She knew where she was going - definitely. As for company? Well, Licia never struggled to find attention. Whether that attention was bad or good wasn't always a definite.
